BIOGRAPHY

The son of a naval officer and a school teacher, London-born Alex Nathan-Woods came to acting in his late twenties. Beginning with short films and student films he found strength in emotional roles. He undertook training courses from coaches such as Lisa Pescia from Los Angeles (The Mentalist, Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm), and Leon Herbert (Alien 3, Batman).
After a few years hiatus to be with family during a tough season, he returned in 2019. With newly developed voice skills, carried over from skills used in vocals for rock and metal styles of music production, he had a new focus on character work. In 2021 he had lead roles in two independent horror films- Mask of the Devil by Richard Rowntree and Tales from the Great War by Andrew Elias. Both heading out onto the festival circuit and distribution later in 2022.
He is also developing projects, including a feature script with the screenwriter and film reviewer John Higgins, a film adaptation of a novel by the author Christopher T Dabrowski, and writing a passion project of his own.
Alex is also a rock and metal musician, with vocals and guitars. He is also a martial artist, with several years of experience in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Aikido styles, including weapons work. His experience includes tournament wins, fight show experience, and coaching.
