BIOGRAPHY
Born on 23rd August 1989, Amelia Greco is a dynamic and engaging actor based in Surrey. Amelia trained in musical theatre at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She also obtained a degree in English and Drama from Royal Holloway University of London. Her most notable theatre credits include Cathy in “The Last Five Years” (The Electric Theatre), Gwendolen in “The Importance of being Earnest” (Tivoli Theatre), Swallow in “Whistle Down the Wind” (Ben Travers Theatre) and Lipochka in “A Family Affair” (The Battersea Arts Centre). Amelia is no stranger to playing panto princesses as she has played title roles in “Cinderella” (The Stage Door) and “Sleeping Beauty” (Center Parcs and tour) as well as most recently Princess Jill in “Jack and the Beanstalk” (Groundlings Theatre).
Amelia’s passion for performing most certainly started in theatre. “I remember the first show I ever saw when I was just four years old. It was ‘Charlotte’s Web’ at the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon and it was beautiful. The actors used puppetry, masks, and movement to tell the story and that was it – I’ve known since then that I was going to be on stage.” Though still drawn to treading the boards, Amelia is eager to gain more experience in film, television and voiceover.
From a young age, Amelia has had a love of music and she began singing lessons at the age of seven. Throughout her childhood, Amelia performed as a soloist in numerous festivals, concerts, competitions, and shows. Dedicated to singing, Amelia has a three-octave range and considers herself to be a skilled and versatile vocalist. As well as playing lead roles in musicals and pantomimes, Amelia has sung a range of musical genres professionally in function bands.
Amelia has had dance training, so she is able to pick up choreography/movement with panache and she is a proficient tap dancer.
Additionally, Amelia has experience in radio as she presented travel news for Radio Jackie after gaining recognition for her contribution to student radio at Royal Holloway. Her warm and friendly voice has also led to some experience in voiceover work for an online pet supplies company.
Alongside her acting career, Amelia likes to keep busy, teaching musical theatre for On-Stage Now Performing Arts Academy and running a private tuition company (she is a qualified primary school teacher). Amelia has a mixed Mediterranean heritage and enjoys learning about different cultures and languages.
