Kashif Shonuyi discovered his passion for acting at the age of 12, captivated by the power of storytelling and the ability of performance to transport audiences into different worlds. His fascination with film and television soon became something more profound. Watching Harry Potter sparked the realisation that acting was what he wanted to pursue: the opportunity to inhabit different characters, explore a range of human experiences and bring compelling stories to life on screen.
Determined to turn that ambition into a career, Kashif began his journey in youth theatre, developing his understanding of performance and building the foundations of his craft. At 19, he enrolled in a part-time drama school, where he undertook three years of training alongside his university studies. His training covered screen acting, the Meisner technique and stagecraft, equipping him with a strong foundation in character development, performance and storytelling.
His first experience performing in front of a live audience confirmed his commitment to acting, reinforcing his desire to pursue the craft professionally. Throughout his training, Kashif continued to develop his skills through theatre productions and acting classes, dedicating himself to understanding the discipline, versatility and emotional depth that compelling performance demands.
Now focused on developing his career in film and television, Kashif is driven by the opportunity to explore complex characters, collaborate with creative talent and bring authentic, engaging performances to the screen. With a strong foundation in his training and a continued commitment to developing his craft, he looks forward to taking on new challenges and building a body of work across screen.
